How many quarterbacks will be selected in the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft?

Throughout this year of scouting, the question I’ve been asked the most is, “How many quarterbacks will go in the first round?” It seems like every few weeks my answer changes as new information emerges.
In my book, the top three quarterbacks—Williams, Daniels, and Maye—are guaranteed to be off the board at picks 1, 2, and 3, respectively. Rumors about the interest in JJ McCarthy suggest that we could see four quarterbacks selected within the first 6 to 7 picks alone.
This leaves Bo Nix and Michael Penix as the remaining contenders for a first-round selection. While both players have a chance, Bo Nix appears to be the more likely candidate. Penix’s injury history raises concerns and may prevent him from being selected in the first round.
Considering all factors, I believe that five quarterbacks will be chosen in the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft. While five seems like a more likely estimate, I would not be surprised to see all top six guys selected within the first 32 picks.
