NFL Draft Comparison: Bo Nix reminds me of Drew Brees

NFL Draft Comparison: Bo Nix reminds me of Drew Brees

When watching Bo Nix, your first impressions are probably going to be his ability to work the short ranges of the field. Bo Nix isn’t going to be the player you ask to launch the ball downfield every play and push for chunk yardage.

Nix excels in being extremely accurate on his short to medium-ranged throws, and working down the field. Nix plays first down to first down.

When watching, I couldn’t help but see some similarities in his game to Drew Brees. Brees was that same type of player. He wouldn’t get bored of completions, and he was excellent at working the ball downfield at a steady pace. Of course, if he needed to, he could put the ball downfield and be accurate while doing so. The same could be said for Bo Nix.

Nix’s 77.4% completion percentage backs this observation up. Nix doesn’t get bored of first downs and completions. He is almost the opposite of Caleb Williams in this regard.

Nix tucks in his superman cape goes down the field and takes what is given to him.

After all, Sean Payton and Denver need a quarterback, and Nix will likely be available at pick number 12.
