Minnesota safety Tyler Nubin was quickly acknowledged on the broadcast as a player to watch during their Week One game against Nebraska.  The 6-2, 210-pound prospect said he has made improvements to his game that will hopefully boost his draft stock further.

“I’ve been rehabbing really hard so I can hopefully do my best at the Combine,” Nubin said.

He certainly had a good role model during his time as a Gopher: current Buccaneer safety Antoine Winfield Jr. is a Minnesota graduate.

“He definitely set the standard,” Nubin said.  “A lot of my game and how I approach the game came from Antoine Winfield.  Just being able to see how he carried himself as a pro and how he carried himself before he was a pro, how he watched film, how he attacked practice, just his pure intensity and love for the game.  I saw how that translate to the field.”

Nubin was asked by Draft Diamonds: how have you grown the most over the past season?

“I think I’ve learned a lot about offense and my ability to do my job,” Nubin said. “I don’t have to chase plays.  If I’m doing my job out there the plays are going to come to me.  I learned a lot about that and staying true to my job and letting the plays come to me.”
