Michigan DT Kris Jenkins says his ideal fit at 3-tech
Michigan defensive lineman Kris Jenkins took questions from the media at the Indiana Convention Center on Wednesday. The 6-3, 305-pound Wolverine said his ideal fit in the NFL is at 3-technique.
“But you can put me anywhere,” he said.
Jenkins was a star defensive lineman on a Michigan team that won the national championship in 2024, and whose head coach, Jim Harbaugh, left to become the new head coach with the Los Angles Chargers. Jenkins aspires to play at the level his former coach will be calling plays at this fall.
Jenkins developed into a great prospect at Michigan, saying he improved the most as a run defender.
“There are a lot of aspects that go into that,” Jenkins said. “It’s really just moreso trusting in yourself and trusting in your unit, that you’re going to make the tackle and get the sack. And that if you miss it, you’ll have it covered.”
Kris Jenkins packs a powerful punch. Can knock offensive linemen back with a well-placed punch. He recently benched 225, 32 times at Michigan.
Jenkins not only has the pedigree of a defensive lineman with his father Kris and uncle Cullen, but the athleticism is top tier. He explodes off the ball but needs to develop some of the technical elements of the game to truly take things to the next level.
