What made you decide you wanted to be a football player?
I’ve been playing football since 6 and my dad made it clear I could get a college degree and make it something I could actually do professionally.
What are your favorite moments from your football life?
While at Alabama State University getting a game winning interception against when Deion Sanders was at Jackson State, last season at Miles College beating Alabama State University and that had never happened before in school history.
What are you looking to achieve as a football player going forward?
I want to be one of the best to make it from my hometown, and I want to be an example and good role model for my kids that think they can’t make it and I want to inspire my community.
If you could hang out with any football player past or present for a day who and why?
Charles Woodson, I feel like he’s one of the best safeties to ever play the game and I would love to learn from him.
Which one of your family members inspires you the most and why?
My whole family, my mom motivates me by working 2 jobs and being in school and supports me, and my little brother inspires me because he looks up to me and my dad inspires me because he was training me and believing in me.
What is your favorite defensive scheme and why?
4-2-5 nickel defense, it allows the slot defender to be in the run game when needed or guard the 3rd wide receiver when needed.
What should we know Jeffery Scott Jr the person?
I am a very determined and purpose driven guy. I’m always grateful but desire more. I’m always trying to get better at something in life everyday.
What stands out about your film the most?
In my film I show great effort and hustle, I’m always around the ball. I have great change of direction and I am not a liability in the passing game or in the run game. I show that I am a special player that can make plays in space.
How do you handle challenges both in life and on the football field?
Adapt. I’ve learned you have to be flexible in life and on the field. I had to learn you can’t cry over spilled milk, you have to move on to the next play in life and on the field.
What would a team get in a player like you?
They will be getting a consistent, physical, smart, and full effort guy. I’m very flexible on the field and I can play any position in the secondary.
What do you love the most about the game of football?
I love that life and football are the exact same. It’s all about moving on regardless you make a good play or bad play. You have to keep a poker face and move on to succeed.
Who is the most underrated player you’ve played with and why?
Chauncey Moore a transfer from Temple I ended up playing with at Alabama State and Graderius Brown this past season at Miles College.
