According to Bethune-Cookman Athletics, Ed Reed the NFL Pro Football Hall of Fame member has agreed in principal to be the 16th head coach of the Wildcats.
Pittman’s Pocket: Ed Reed should be coaching at an HBCU program

I still believe Ed Reed can make a substantial contribution to all HBCU programs, but he has not been given a shot. Last year, I thought for sure we would see Reed’s impact at Bethune-Cookman before he left the school abruptly.

Ed Reed is trying to reach out to the HBCU football community for a second chance and to be honest it’s unfair. There would not be a Steve Sarkesian Will Muschamp or Jeremy Pruitt without Nick Saban. The Hall of Famer is still a great contribution, if not as a Head Coach most definitely as an assistant. Reed is upfront and not a back door kind of person. With his coaching philosophy and personal perspective which has proven to be misunderstood, he could help turn a program around.

With FAMU open, I wonder if the Rattlers will make a run for the former Ravens safety.

Ed Reed, I’m for you brother in getting another chance at coaching at an HBCU. Hopefully one of these AD’s truly hear you out and help assist you.
