Pittman’s Pocket: HBCU National Champs | Congrats FAMU RATTLERS
Why do HBCU National Champion teams not get a ton of pro exposure from the NFL?
I have been researching and found it is very interesting that many HBCU football teams that win a National Championship are selected the next year in the NFL Draft.
We see Draft Picks flooded year-by-year by Georgia, Alabama, Clemson and etc. It seems the NFL Scouts and GMs are always well-represented by every NFL scout and executive, but that is not always the case with HBCU national championship games.
Hell, even the FCS championships get more NFL executives and scouts to be present. Somehow you can find an FCS Champion in the first several rounds selected, but rarely if not never have you ever seen a HBCU football team since Eddie Robinson gets that much love from NFL scouts and GMS.
How can previous HBCU champions ever get the equivalent amount of exposure from NFL scouts and GM’S at the Celebration Bowl?
