Judge granted Alabama football player who knowingly transmitted STD’s, Youth Offender status
Elijah Pritchett, 19, was arrested for knowingly transmitting a sexual disease to another person.
According to police records, the charge is defined as “any person afflicted with a sexually transmitted disease who shall knowingly transmit, or assume the risk of transmitting, or do any act which will probably or likely transmit such disease to another person.”
The freshman redshirt offensive lineman was released on a 500 dollar bond, and the judge granted him youthful offender status.
Youthful Offender means that if a person under the age of 21 years of age when he committed a criminal act makes an application for Youthful Offender status (also commonly called “Y.O. status”), and that status is granted in accordance with Alabama state law, he must give up his right to be tried by a jury if a jury trial was an available option for the defendant.
