Player Summary:
6th YR RS SR and 1 yr full-time starter at DB where he aligns at both DS positions in the 3-3-5 and 4-2-5 Nickel heavy defense of ARUN. He transferred from TXBA in ’23 and was previously at KSBU. He possesses elite height, solid weight and good speed with a lean, athletic build. He is an above-average athlete showing a combination of good balance, acceleration, explosiveness, lateral quickness and agility with ordinary COD and good top end play speed. In off-man, he does a solid job of reading the hips of slot WR with ordinary play speed and uses his good AA to stay in phase. In zone, he effectively reads the QB while patrolling the deep third in cover 3. He displays good ball skills as he locates the ball in the air and exhibits good hands as he makes the interception or plays through the hands of the WR as he disrupts the trajectory of the ball for a PBU. He is a good open-field tackler after the catch is made as he exhibits quality closing speed in pursuit and exhibits good explosiveness as he makes the tackle on WR with average size and play speed. He is good against the run. He exhibits good FBI as he quickly reads run/pass and displays sufficient play strength and physical toughness as he disengages from stalk blocks from WR with ordinary grip strength. He exhibits above-average range and instincts as he plays to the sideline and takes good instincts in pursuit. He exhibits solid form tackling ability as he plays with good leverage and explosiveness as he makes the tackle on RB with average size and AA preventing a big gain. He plays with a very good motor as he plays until the whistle consistently. He shows ordinary awareness in zone coverage as WR with good FBI and route running ability are ability to find the soft spot in his zone. He exhibits adequate hip fluidity as he changes direction. In rare instances when asked to blitz, his lack of quality play strength prevents him from disengaging from OL at the POA and penetrating the LOS.
