Week 9 Top FBS Performers | Presented by the Caribe Royale Orlando Hula Bowl
The Caribe Royale Orlando Hula Bowl will be played in Orlando, Florida on January 13th, 2024 and is televised on CBS Sports. The staff at NFL Draft Diamonds has worked for the past three years as the scouting staff for the Hula Bowl, and we are excited to get the 2023-24 season underway. With tons of great football games in the NCAA this week, we wanted to break down several of the Top Performers in the FBS that would have eligibility to play in our game. We are definitely watching, and had scouts at 9 games this week around the country. Let’s break down some of the best performances from week 9.
Austin Reed, QB, Western Kentucky – Even though WKU came up short against Liberty, Reed was slinging the ball around. He finished with 365 yards passing and four touchdowns. Reed since leaving UWF has become a solid prospect for the Hilltoppers.
Dayton Wade, WR, Ole Miss – The 5’9 wide out had a huge day against Vandy going for 120 yards on 8 receptions. The speedster finished with 15 yards per catch, and scored a touchdown as well. He looked pretty impressive.
Jawhar Jordan, RB, Louisville – Jordan has turned into a top running back in the 2024 NFL Draft Class. The Louisville running back shred Duke for 163 yards on the ground averaging 7.8 yards per carry and scoring twice. Jordan looks like an NFL back and has NFL speed.
Ainias Smith, RB, Texas A&M – Ainias Smith is a blazing fast prospect who had an amazing game this past week for the Aggies. He finished with 118 yards through the air on 6 receptions and scored once. He was a beast out of the backfield against the Gamecocks.
Payton Wilson, LB, NC State – The hard-nosed linebacker would end up leaving the game early, but sealed the game with a pick six on Cade Klubnik of Clemson. He finished with 8 tackles, 1.5 tackles for loss, and a pick six! He plays like tomorrow is his last day!
