What made you decide you wanted to be a football player?
Growing up I was very competitive and my mom seen this and introduced me to the game at 4 years old and that’s what started my career!
What are your favorite moments from your football life?
I would have to say those goal-line stands and those game sealing drives. Those moments are what you train all year for and it’s one of the greatest feelings when you get that stop.
What are you looking to achieve as a football player going forward?
Looking to get a chance to prove what I know I can do, just as I have done on every level I have played on so far!
Which one of your family members inspires you the most and why?
I would have to say my dad, coming to America from ways of Palestine at 15 years old with only $20 to his name is truly inspiring and really helped me get through these so called tough times I’ve had while playing ball.
If you could hang out with any football player past or present for a day who and why?
Definitely Luke Kuechly, his insight on the field and off the field in the film room really is how I model my mental side of the game. Knowing and anticipating plays based on formation, personnel, and situation really sets players apart from one another.
What is your favorite defensive scheme and why?
I would say a 4-2-5 I’ve had the most success in this scheme really being able to be a sideline to sideline player is what separates me, I’ve been blessed to have played in may schemes such as a true 4-4 which you don’t see much of in todays passing world, but also a 4-3 which I also enjoyed as well. Really any scheme where I’m able to run and not be robotic is what I thrive in.
What should we know about Kareem Hamdan the person?
What I would like people to know about me is how my faith absolutely comes first, I want people to know how I do anything is how I do everything. This mentality is what I was grew up on and has shaped me to who I am today!
What stands out about your film the most?
Always around the football, my instincts, and relentless pursuit to the football. Also my pass coverage I would add.
How do you handle challenges both in life and on the football field?
Head on. Own up to everything and hit the drawing board. Excuses only weaken your character as our defense coordinator always preached.
What would a team get in a player like you?
They would get a playmaker, someone who thrives when the going gets tough. They’d get someone who gives there all every rep.
What do you love the most about the game of football?
Outside of the actual game and history of it, I love how any given Saturday or Sunday anyone can win, the team aspect and every man doing their job is unlike any sport. 11 men doing there job and relying on each other is why I absolutely love this sport.
Who is the most underrated player you’ve played with and why?
Legend Davis, he played boundary safety with me for 3 years now and he’s an absolute ball hawk!
