What makes you a top prospect at your position in the 2024 NFL Draft

  • I think one thing that makes me a top prospect in the 2024 NFL draft is my ability to adapt to change. I think that for many people change is a frowned upon thing, but for me I welcome change. I’m comfortable being uncomfortable. I think that over my college tenure, playing in so many different systems in very unfamiliar states has given me some experiences in life that make most circumstances relatable in some way. Also, I think that I’m very sure-handed and able to win the majority of my matchups from various positions on the field.

At what age were you first interested in the sport of football?

  • I first got interested in football at the age of 5 when I began to really enjoy watching my older brother play. Although we play different positions I enjoyed watching him make so many extravagant plays, I truly wanted to be him haha.

What is one thing that NFL teams should know about you?

  • NFL teams should know that although I come from a smaller institution, as stated before, I’m comfortable with change. I understand that the jump from collegiate to professional football requires a level of work, more work than I potentially have ever put out before. But I’m ready to do so.

If you could donate to one cause in the world, what would it be?

  • As a nonprofit management major, this question is one that i get asked often. If I could donate to any cause, it would most likely be children’s mental health. I think that children truly are the future and right now there is a mental health crisis. I work with children often and have one myself, knowing that there are so many children who struggle with mental health issues (stress, anxiety, etc.) hurts my heart.

What is the best advice you have ever received?

  • The best advice I ever received was to live in the moment. Every second of your life truly is important, you have to experience life not just live it. You can’t fix yesterday and you can’t change tomorrow, all you can do is control today. So you have to live in each moment knowing that.

Who was your childhood hero?

  • My childhood hero was my big brother, Kenny, I wore my hair like him, I played football because of him and I even used to try to talk like him hahaha. I truly love my brother and it’s funny to look back and see how similar I tried to be to him as I grew up.

Who is the most underrated teammate in your locker room at your school?

  • The most underrated person in my locker room from the season would have to be Connor Dugan. Connor is a good wide receiver but he is an amazing quarterback. I think that he has the potential to play on Sundays if somebody truly invests in him. Unfortunately at my school, he didn’t have the year that I KNOW he could have elsewhere. I can’t wait to see where CD ends up, keep an eye out!

What is your biggest pet peeve?

  • My biggest pet peeve is when I notice my phone is at 1% and then I go to charge it but when I get my phone charger to plug it in, my phone dies. That’s a top 5 most annoying experiences in the history of mankind.

Who is your favorite teacher ever?

  • My favorite teacher ever was my third-grade teacher, Mrs. Nunn, she genuinely believed in me and thought that I would be great even in the third grade. I remember how optimistic she was for my future and she always made me promise to her that I would go play college football one day. So I hope she sees that I’ve completed the mission. She reached back out right before i went to college to wish me luck and give me advice for college. She will forever be my favorite teacher and one that deserves her flowers.

Overcoming adversity is what defines character, what was the hardest moment in your life to overcome?

  • I think the hardest thing in my life that I’ve had to overcome wouldn’t really be a bad moment. I would say overcoming the obstacles of school and football while also being an active father

Tell me something about your school and why it is so special to you?

  • I think one thing that’s super special about my school is the foreign population. They bring so much culture, energy, and honestly just swag haha. I love the way that some of our foreign students are open about their love for their home country and how willing they are to welcome you into it even if you aren’t a part of their culture. I’ve gotten the chance to learn about so many different cultures without having to leave campus. It’s really a blessing.

If you could have any franchise restaurant in your house what would it be?

  • If I could have any franchise restaurant in my home it would definitely be, waffle house. If I could wake up every morning to 2 pecan waffles, a triple order of hashbrowns, and an order of bacon I think life would be complete haha

What is your favorite snack food?

  • If I’m going salty, I’m going salt and vinegar kettle cooked lays potato chips but if I’m going sweet, I’m going for a strawberry shortcake roll, the little Debbie kind of course haha but I’m an ice cream fiegn. I’ll eat Edy’s/Dreyer’s Rocky Road Ice cream with every meal of the day, it’s wild.

What is your degree in?

  • Non-Profit Management

If you could sell yourself in one sentence what would you say?

  • Everybody needs somebody who knows somebody, I’m the somebody they know.

If you could compare your play to one player in the NFL who would it be?

  • I love the flashy guys but if I had to make a comparison I would say I compare to Tee Higgins. I actually really like his game. He’s very sure-handed. He may not be the fastest person on the field, but he always ends up behind the defense and that’s special.

What is your favorite game to play at the carnival/theme park?

  •  When I was a kid, I used to love whack a mole. I remember when I was at my old college there was a carnival in town and they had whack a mole, I spent almost 35 minutes playing and I came back to play multiple times. I don’t know, for some reason it gives me a sense of nostalgia

If you could have dinner with three people dead or alive, who would it be and why?

  • Malcolm X, Michael Jackson and Jeff Bezos

Malcolm X because I would love to pick his brain and learn more about resiliency from him. Michael Jackson because that’s the king of pop and I don’t know, I just wanna kick it and eat some Chicken strips with the pop homie hahaha. Jeff Bezos because well, let’s be honest, I’m gonna ask him for a loan LOL.
