Player Summary:
A fourth-year senior who spent his first two seasons at Trinity Valley Community College in Athens, Texas. He was an unranked recruit out of Lancaster HS (TX) but later established himself as the fourth-ranked JUCO Wide Receiver in the Class of 2022. Signed with Indiana and became the Hoosiers’ leading receiver through eight games in his first season at the FBS level. Suffered a torn ACL in Week 8 of the 2022 season, which ended his season prematurely. Outside receiver with proficient height/weight measurements, quality length, and a long, slender lower half. Exhibits strong hand-catching ability and ball judgment/instincts. Tracks the ball well into his hands and competes for contested catches at the highest point. Fluidly adjusts to deep balls to the boundary. Possesses ample play speed and intriguing long speed to create separation downfield. Decent route runner who works diligently to set up routes against soft coverage. Locates and attacks holes in zone coverage and works the scramble drill well. He is most effective against off-man coverage where he can target a defensive back’s blindspot and force them to open their gate before snapping off his route. Drops weight/sinks hips nicely at the top of the route but shows some lower-body stiffness when changing direction & tempo while in phase. Struggles to get off the ball quickly and create separation off the LOS against press-man coverage. Displays insufficient burst/acceleration when releasing off the ball and lacks the physicality to shed defenders when they get inside his frame. Long strider who moves efficiently in the open field when he can get off the ball cleanly. Willing blocker with competitive play strength and effort to hold his own on the perimeter. Special teams versatility is questionable at this point.
Scheme Fit:
Outside receiver in a spread system
Power Statement:
Camper flashes great size, length, hands-catching ability, and ball judgment/instincts as a primary vertical threat. Needs to refine specific parts of his game (acceleration/burst, release, route-running physicality) at the next level before seeing consistent snaps.
