Week 7 Small School Top Performers | Presented by Caribe Royale Orlando Hula Bowl
The Caribe Royale Orlando Hula Bowl will be played in Orlando, Florida on January 13th, 2024, and is televised on CBS Sports. The scouts of NFL Draft Diamonds have worked for the past three years as the scouting staff for the Hula Bowl. We are excited to get the 2023-24 season underway and had scouts in attendance to 15 plus games this week. With tons of great football games in the NCAA this week, we wanted to break down several of the Top Performers in the Small Schoolers that would have eligibility to play in our game. Let’s break down some of the best performances from week 7.
Zach Calzada, QB, Incarnate Word – The Senior gunslinger from Buford, Georgia beat Texas A&M Commerce in a big conference win. He finished with 300 yards passing and two touchdowns.
Hayden Hatten, WR, Idaho – The senior wide receiver had a monster game against a very tough Montana defense. He finished the game with 11 receptions for 139 yards and 2 touchdowns.
Dominic Roberto, RB, Furman – The Fayetteville, North Carolina native finished with 128 yards on the ground and one touchdown, but helped get a huge win over a very tough Samford team. Roberto was a brute force.
Jackson Taylor, LB, Delaware – Taylor recorded a season-high 15 tackles, a sack and 4.0 tackles for loss as Delaware beat North Carolina A&T, 21-6. The 4.0 TFL’s were the 4th-most in school history and the most by a Blue Hen since the spring 2021 season.
Luke Skokna, RB/RS, North Dakota – Skokna helped the Fighting Hawks set the tone in their 49-24 victory over the Bison, taking the opening kickoff 100 yards to put UND up 7-0 just 13 seconds into the game. He finished the contest with three touchdowns.
