Player Summary:
Jamree Kromah is a RS SR from Glenarden, MD. He spent his first three seasons at Rutgers University before transferring to James Madison University for the 2022 season. Kromah possesses average height with a well-built muscular frame. He has broad shoulders and solid length with thick muscular arms along with a well-built lower half. His frame should allow him to easily add weight at the next level. Kromah is a versatile and experienced DL and has played multiple positions including 3T, 5T, and 4i in JMU’s multiple front defense. He displays solid AA as well as good play strength, and good initial quickness at the snap. In run defense he plays with good leverage and generates good power and violence to maintain his position at the POA. He consistently shows the ability to control his gaps and maintains solid contact balance while fighting through blocks to get to the ball carrier. He has good UOH and can shed single blocks on a fairly consistent basis. He also shows the ability to work down the LOS and make plays from the backside. Closing speed and pursuit angles are solid but inconsistent. COD is average to below-average. Kromah is a capable pass rusher who can rush off the edge or from the interior. He generally relies on his strength/power and high motor to get to the QB as most of his sacks come from high effort plays. He shows good burst when rushing off the edge and can beat slower OTs. Can bend at the top of his rush. Kromah displays a good variety of pass rush moves but most frequently relies on the bull rush and swim move to beat blockers. Although he may be slightly undersized, his run stopping ability and motor will earn him a chance at the next level.
Scheme Fit:
3T in an even front defense.
Power Statement:
Jamree Kromah is a versatile and experienced defensive linemen who excels at stopping the run while also serving as a capable pass rusher in passing situations. He plays with good power and strength along with good quickness. As he continues to add weight he could become a solid rotational DL in the NFL.
