This week several schools became bowl eligible and others in FCS and D2 tried to move closer to playoff spots. We break down a group of Non P5 players that shined in week 9 of football.

Liberty So. QB Kaidon Salter

Salter, in a 42-29 win over Western Kentucky to moved the Flames to 8-0. He passed for 169 yards and three scores, completing all but five passes. On the ground, Salter, a true dual-threat, added 117 yards and another score while averaging nine yards per run.

In 2023, Salter has passed for 1,662 yards and 19 touchdowns against three interceptions, with a 58.7 completion percentage. Salter has also rushed for 614 yards and seven touchdowns.

SMU RS So. Isaiah Nwokobia

In a 69-10 win over Tulsa, Nwokobiagot his first interception of the season and returned it for his first touchdown.

Nwokobia had 41 tackles and 3.5 TFL this season with a sack. At 6-1, he has good size for the next level and has shown an ability to get into the backfield, with 5.5 career TFL. He redshirted after four games in 2022, he played eight games in 2021 and nine this season.

San Jose St.  Sr. RB Kairee Robinson 

In a 35-0 win over Hawaii, Robinson rushed for 146 yards and two scores while averaging 8.6 yards per rush, Robinson also caught one pass for seven yards.

In his career at SJSU, Robinson has played in 50 games for the Spartans, the  5-7 back has carried the ball 454 times, with a total of 2,238 yards and 26 touchdowns. This season, Robinson has rushed for 7149 yards and 13 touchdowns.

If he makes it to the next level, which could happen late on in the UDFA period if he comes out this season, he will have to add more of a receiving threat to his arsenal, in his career at SJSU, he has caught 89 passes for a little over 700 yards and five touchdowns.

North Carolina Central Sr. QB Davius Richard

In  a 62-28 win over South Carolina St., Richard passed for 352 yards and five scores, while rushing for 23 yards and two more touchdowns.

On the season, Richard has passed for 1.301 yards and 11 touchdowns, At 6-3, 220, Richard has the body for the next level. In his career at NCCU, Richard has thrown for 8,115 yards and 63 touchdowns against 28 interceptions.

Samford  Grad, QB Michael Hiers

In a 37-7 win over The Citadel, Hiers threw for 353 yards and three touchdowns, while not turning the ball over and rushing for 10 yards.

On the season, Hiers has thrown for 2,541 yards amd 15 touchdowns against seven interceptions. 

Hiers, 6-1, has played in 23 games the past two seasons with 6,584 yards and 52 touchdowns against 13 interceptions.

It;s clear Hiers has the production to get a few looks at the next level, and with Samford at 5-4 overall this season, he can also lead a team to some wins.

Richmond RS Sr. DB Marlen Louis

In a 44-13 win over Campbell for the Spiders, Louis had  two TFL and two sacks with two forced fumbles.

Louis has been in the backfield a lot this season, with 7.5 TFL and four sacks. Louis has forced four fumbles and recovered one, while making 75 total tackles.

In his career at Richmond, Louis 97 tackles, 25.5 TFL and 12.5 sacks.  At 6-3, Louis is big and fast, as he has shown by stopping offenses behind the line of scrimmage.

In his time at Richmond, Louis has forced seven fumbles and recovered three.

Virginia Union Sr. WR Said Sidibe

Sidibe caught eight balls for 165 yards in a 57-12 win over Bluefield St to move to 8-1 on the season.

ILast season, Sibide played in 11 games and caught 18 passes for 281 yards and two touchdowns, This year, he has caught 30 passes for 472 yards and four scores, improving his production from last season.

Sidibe, 6-1, 185, he will need to workout well and play well down the stretch to earn afew looks this season, but if he comes back for another season and uses the COVID eligibility rule, he could turn some heads. 

Virginia State Grad. QB Jordan Davis

In a 50-point win to move to 8-1, Davis passed for 272 yards and four touchdowns, completing 65% of hs passes.

On the season, Davis, 5-1, has thrown for 1,230 yards and 11 touchdowns against six interceptions. In his career, he has completed 57% of his passes and thrown 27 touchdowns against 12  interceptions.
