Travis Hunter and Deion Sanders both defend the late hit of Henry Blackburn
Travis Hunter was on his YouTube Channel and was asked about the hit he took from Colorado State safety Henry Blackburn, and he was very open about it and said it is football. He didn’t feel the play was malice.
“It’s football at the end of the day,” the 20-year-old said about the play on Monday. “Stuff like that gonna happen. He did what he was supposed to do. It’s football.”
“Just gotta get up and fight again — that’s what I tried to do,” Hunter said.
“Good thing the doctors stopped me because if there was no doctors there I’d still be out there playing.”
Deion Sanders then echoed the same thoughts in an interview.
Deion said:
“Henry Blackburn is a good player who played a phenomenal game,” Deion said.
“He does not deserve a death threat over a game.”
“I forgive him. Our team forgives him. Travis Hunter has forgiven him. Let’s move on. That kid does not deserve that.”
