Talk about your experience as a student. What is your major/minor? Did you participate in any other activities or campus organizations other than football?
My experience as a student has been very good at the University of West Florida. The professors I have dealt with and studied under have been very helpful and understanding of the very busy schedules us Student-Athletes have. I am a communications major and I graduate this upcoming December. I am currently not a part of any activities outside of the Football team.
What do your teammates say is your best quality?
I am a competitor. I compete in everything I do, as well as push everyone around me to compete just as hard to not only make me better but themselves.
What kind of role do you see yourself in on the team? What scheme and/or position suits your skill set?
I see myself as the leader not only vocally but with my actions. I see myself having the weight of the team on my back and leading us to wherever we want to go. I feel like the spread scheme fits me the best because I am a quarterback who can make any throw as well as extend and make plays with my legs.
Who is the best player you have ever played against in college?
Keionte Scott from Snow CC or Caleb Murphy from Ferris State.
Which one of your teammates impresses you the most?
Each and every one of them they are all greatness.
What makes you different from others at your position?
I have the arm strength and Ability to make any throw on the field, as well as be included on any Qb run game scheme. I am able to adapt to whatever the teams needs from me to make the team a complete package as well as lead any group to wins. I have played for 3 different schools and had 4 different Head Coaches with very different offenses and I have mastered and won at all of the schools. My ability to adapt and Win is like no other from this draft class.
Describe a time in your life when you were able to overcome a struggle.
At the end of my freshman season in 2018 I found out I needed surgery on my throwing shoulder, a month after the surgery I had to leave school and help take care of my Grandma with in-home hospice until she later passed a week after from cancer. I then returned to school in Mid-March after about a month off and passed my classes, while finding out I needed another surgery in July on my throwing shoulder, I chose to sit out fall 2019 and figure out life. 2020 covid came and i still had no school to go to when Iowa Central CC picked me up for the fall of 2020 after taking 2 years off from football. After arriving on campus we found out our season was postponed until the Spring of 2021. I played a decent amount that spring 2021 season and after choosing to return for the 2021 Fall season and having a very good season I was named the #1 Qb in Juco December of 2021 and broke every school record during the Fall Season.
If you didn’t play football, what other sport would you play?
Baseball. Pitcher or Third Base.
What is something that you are most proud of? What would you say is your biggest achievement?
My story, no matter how my playing career ends no one can take away my will and desire to keep going when almost everyone and thing was against me. My biggest achievement is either being named Conference Player of the Year and #1 Quarterback In JUCO 2021, or Being a Conference Champion my first year here at UWF.
Describe one of the most memorable plays of your collegiate career.
My Walk off 2-Point conversion run in OT against Valdosta State last season.
Do you have a favorite athlete or professional team? Is there a player that you model your game after?
My favorite athlete right now is Patrick Mahomes. I don’t feel I model my game based off anyone, just have some play styles comparable to Cam Newton, Patrick Mahomes, and Randall Cunningham.
What gets you “pumped up” before a game?
Music is a mix of Rap and Peaceful music to keep me balanced.
What do you do in your spare time? Do you have any hobbies? Any secret talents?
I play a lot of Fortnite with teammates and watch TikTok.
Why do you play football? Who or what motivates you the most?
I play to keep proving people wrong, almost everyone besides God and my Family gave up on me after my freshman year & a lot of people from my high school/city have made it this far or have done what I have done at the college level. God First but My parents are my motivation, I’ll never know half of the work they have put in to make it where they are today while dragging along myself & my siblings. Lastly, the thought of giving up just doesn’t ever sit right with me. I want the most out of myself and know that I can keep going so I will.
What do you want NFL teams to know about you?
That they will get a player who wants to be coached. I am never satisfied with staying at the same level and I want to bring everyone around me up to greatness. I am not a person they have to worry about outside of the facility bringing a bad look on the organization or to myself, and I am willing to do what is best for the team.
