Autopsy reveals UNLV football player died from cardiac dysrhythmia due to hypertrophic cardiomyopathy

20-year-old UNLV football player Ryan Keeler who died earlier this year, passed away from cardiac dysrhythmia due to hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, according to the Clark County Coroner’s office.
The former Rutgers player transferred to UNLV at the beginning of the 2022 season. When Keeler died it was a shock to everyone around him and his teammates.
The coroner’s office said the condition “is essentially fatal arrhythmia due to thickening of the heart muscle.”
The 6’6, 275 pound freshman was in great shape and had a bright future. We are so saddened by the passing.
Keeler led the Nazareth Academy Roadrunners to a state title in 2018.
