What makes you a top prospect at your position in the 2024 NFL Draft

There are a few different things that make me a top prospect for my position. My top three would be that I’m a natural leader, so whatever team I become a part of, I’ll have the ability to influence because of how hardworking & disciplined I am; I have a high football IQ which makes me very instinctive and able to anticipate route concepts quickly; I also have the athleticism required to allow me to transition out of breaks and have smooth hips.

At what age were you first interested in the sport?

I always gravitated towards a football from birth but started playing and finding interest at age 7

What is one thing that NFL teams should know about you?

There’s a difference between being motivated and being self-motivated, and I’m self-motivated. I wake up hungry to be the very best defensive back that a team can find. I’m passionate about football, it’s something I’ve dedicated my whole life to since I started playing. I don’t need external motivation, the fire is already lit inside of me and nobody can put that fire out but God.

If you could donate to one cause in the world, what would it be?

Parental guidance resources in my community. The world is a hard place to navigate when you don’t have the right people in your life to help guide you. It starts with the parents because they have the biggest impact on their children. Our children are leading the charge to make our world a better place so it’s important to make sure their foundation is strong.

What is the best advice you have ever received?

“Faith without work is dead” James 2:26, Meaning I can hope for whatever to happen for me, I can pray, I can believe it’s going to happen all I want but if I do not work towards what I’m praying for or believe is going to happen for me, it won’t come to fruition if I don’t put the work in to obtain it. So I’m all about WORK

Who was your childhood hero?

My mom, she set the example that I have to work for what I want. While also living my life in the right way and knowing that when I got out into the world that I will have an impact on all those that I encounter.

Who is the most underrated teammate in your locker room at your school?

Quinten Sanders

What is your biggest pet peeve?

My biggest pet peeve is being a negative person

Overcoming adversity is what defines character, what was the hardest moment in your life to overcome?

In college, at Lenoir-Rhyne, I had spent my freshman/sophomore season in the background behind older guys waiting for my turn. I felt like I wasn’t getting the opportunities I knew I deserved but later I got my shot the next season(covid season). Going into the next fall camp, I earned a starting spot but I ended up injuring my wrist during camp. That drastically changed my opportunity. I was already debating transferring from the school because I felt that God was pulling me away from that environment due to it being as close as it was to my childhood home and issues in the community. I trusted God and stepped out on faith by entering the transfer portal to finish out my junior and senior seasons at a different institution. I ended up at North Greenville University. I was able to see that God has a plan for me because when I got there, I became a starter and I started every game having a remarkable season as you can see from the film. There were a lot of things that impacted my situation with not having secured a school before entering the transfer portal. I was sleeping on a blowup mattress in a one-bedroom apartment, working two jobs while still dedicating every day to perfecting my craft working out doing fieldwork hitting the track. God made it all work in the end though and I’ll continue to strive towards my goals.

Tell me something about your school and why it is so special to you?

North Greenville University, which is in Tigerville city is a very secluded place where many would agree it’s in the middle of nowhere, but I found to appreciate its views, Campus, and the school’s motto “Christ makes the difference” which is something I truly believe.

What is your favorite snack food?

I’m a big dessert person so I love strawberry cheesecake and any chocolate chip cookies with ice cream.

What is the best part of football?

I would say the best part of football is the lessons that you learn from it that carry into the real world being disciplined, being attentive to details, being able to follow directions, getting things done, and effectively studying your career is in but above all football has allowed me to find peace.

If you could sell yourself in one sentence what would you say?

I’m not going to act like I have life all figured out and that I know exactly what to do or how to do it, but one distinguishing quality that I believe separates me from the rest is that I am not a quitter and I wake up with a fire in my heart for success with a high standard to give my absolute very best every single day.

If you could compare your play to one player in the NFL who would it be?

If I could compare myself to one player in NFL, It would be Marshon Lattimore. I think I’m very unique and have a combination of elite DBs.

If you could have dinner with three people dead or alive, who would it be and why?

  1. Bruce Lee
  2. Denzel Washington
  3. Deion Sanders
