What makes you a top prospect at your position in the 2024 NFL Draft

What makes me a top prospect at Quarterback in the 2024 NFL Draft is my arm strength, accuracy, football I-Q, decision-making skills, ability to read defenses, mobility, and leadership qualities.

At what age were you first interested in the sport of football?

I started playing football when I was five years old with Cary Pop Warner.  I’ve always loved football and started out actually on the offensive line my first year and transitioned to a skill position the following year.

What is one thing that NFL teams should know about you?

NFL teams should know I have a tremendous work ethic with a mindset of outworking everyone, have outstanding character, and love to have fun while playing the game of football!

If you could donate to one cause in the world, what would it be?

If I could donate to one cause in the world, it would be to the health and medical field of those people in need with diseases/cancer/disabilities to help treat and cure.  I would love to help and provide for those in need fighting for their life every day.  I am big on gratitude and love helping others without seeking anything in return.

What is the best advice you have ever received?

The best advice I have ever received was from my grandfather, a role model of mine who passed in January 2022.  Every time I saw him he always told me to “stay focused and keep your eye on the prize”.  Ever since he told me this at a young age, I’ve always held myself to a higher standard of staying focused and becoming the best version of myself every day.   “Stay focused”.

Who was your childhood hero?

My childhood hero was my mother.  Watching her never settle for anything, putting her kids before herself, working multiple jobs, and caring and loving hard really pushed me to become the person I am today.  I am very thankful to call her my mother.

Who is the most underrated teammate in your locker room at your school?

I just transferred to Charlotte and I would say I am the most underrated.  I have a had a great career so far but still so much to prove and I can’t wait to let my play do it’s talking for my final year and go out big!

What is your biggest pet peeve?

My biggest pet peeve is lying and not keeping it real with whoever is around me. As well as being unorganized or messy.

Overcoming adversity is what defines character, what was the hardest moment in your life to overcome?

The hardest moment in my life to overcome besides the death of loved ones was being injured my 2021 season and staying focused and disciplined to get the necessary rehab done while thinking positive even though it was killing me to not be on the field.  I had to change my mindset and outlook and eventually got through it and had a great season the following year.

Tell me something about your school and why it is so special to you?

This school is so special to me because of the relationships I’ve built with players, friends, and being a part of organizations.  It’s even more special to end my career at the same school for my last year after being at Charlotte in 2020-2022 and going to Eastern Illinois for the 2022 season while now finishing at Charlotte with a new staff!

What is your favorite snack food?

My favorite snack food is fresh fruit, especially grapes and strawberries.  I am definitely a candy guy so sour patches or sour worms too!

What is the best part of football?

The best part about football is the genuine relationships you build with your teammates, coaches, fans, and everyone behind the scenes that make the program go.  Football has taught me a number of life lessons and I can truly say I’m a better man because of the game of football.

If you could sell yourself in one sentence what would you say?

If I could sell myself in one sentence, I would say that I am a leader, a winner with a great football IQ, great decision-making qualities, and a playmaker who will find a way to get the job done.

If you could compare your play to one player in the NFL who would it be?

I would compare myself to Jalen Hurts.  Jalen is a dual-threat quarterback with a high-level IQ of the game.  He can deliver the ball in the pocket, on the run, and make plays with his feet.  Watching him, I can see my play style and play-making ability.

If you could have dinner with three people dead or alive, who would it be and why?

If I could have dinner with three people, it would be Russell Wilson, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr, and Drake.  I want to sit down with Russell Wilson because he had a hell of a college journey with adversity and found a way to overcome the background noise while being an undersized black QB.  I’d have dinner with MLK to hear about his passion for Justice and to learn about that time period. Lastly,  with Drake to better understand the music industry, his choice of lyrics and I like his music.  I would love to pick all these guys’ brains.
