What makes you a top prospect at your position in the 2024 NFL Draft?
What makes me a top prospect in my position is my versatility. Not only being effective in different run schemes but being a sound pass protector, as well as being a weapon in the passing game and being able to line up in the slot.
At what age were you first interested in the sport of football?
I have been interested in football for as long as I can remember as a kid. My dad played at East Tennessee State and my Uncle played in the NFL, so I have been around the game from day 1.
What is one thing that NFL teams should know about you?
One thing that NFL teams should know about me is my commitment to being a team player and a leader, whether that is on offense or special teams. I will do whatever is asked of me, in order for us to win.
If you could donate to one cause in the world, what would it be?
I would donate to St Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
What is the best advice you have ever received?
If you are the smartest in the room, you are in the wrong room.
Who was your childhood hero?
My childhood hero was my dad. He taught me everything I know, and I would not be where I am now without him.
Who is the most underrated teammate in your locker room at your school?
The most underrated teammate in our locker room is Kirby Grigsby. He also plays running back and will be a great player for us in the fall.
What is your biggest pet peeve?
Complainers.
Overcoming adversity is what defines character, what was the hardest moment in your life to overcome?
The hardest moment in my life I had to overcome was when I transferred from Northern Arizona to Baker. It was extremely difficult for me to leave my teammates and Arizona and go to a new school where I did not know anyone. I never understood why God had my journey mapped out this way, but in the end, it was for the better and I am thankful.
Tell me something about your school and why it is so special to you?
What makes my school so special is the winning tradition and culture within the athletic program as a whole. With it being a smaller town and school, there is a lot of support from the community, as well as other athletes on campus.
What is your favorite snack food?
I don’t really have a favorite snack.
What is the best part of football?
The best part of football is the brotherhood that is formed and the lifelong friendships it has given me.
If you could sell yourself in one sentence what would you say?
I am the hardest worker on and off the field and a great teammate and leader.
If you could compare your play to one player in the NFL who would it be?
I would compare my play to Christian McCaffery. We both have a similar build and athletic ability, but I believe the versatility within an offense is what is the biggest comparison and similarity. Not only is a weapon in the running game but the passing game as well.
If you could have dinner with three people dead or alive, who would it be and why?
- James Harden– Growing up I was a ball boy at ASU when he played there and was and still is my favorite NBA player. He changed the game in a lot of ways, and I would love to hear about the adversity he overcame along the way.
- Inky Johnson- I have listened to a lot of his motivational speeches and the way he handled his injury and turned it into a blessing and better than anyone could have imagined always inspired me. His mental toughness and outlook on life are some things I would love to ask and talk to him about.
- David Goggins- I read his book recently “Can’t Hurt Me.” I would recommend this book to everyone. He talks about pushing past pain, overcoming fear and adversity, and reaching your potential. I feel that I would have so much to learn from him and I would be able to apply a lot to my own life.
