What made you decide you wanted to be a football player?

What made me decide to play football was watching Sean Taylor and how he would come down and hit people. My first year playing football was the year he unfortunately passed away.

What are your favorite moments from your football life?

Recently winning conference championship at Delta state last year, competing with my teammates everyday, and winning state back to back years.

Which one of your family members inspires you the most and why?

My pops, he’s showed me the blueprint on how hard work will meet success. He has instilled a winning mindset in me since I was little and he’s helped me become the man I am today. Showed me that quitting is not an option.

What are you looking forward to in your upcoming season?

I’m looking forward to working and playing with my brothers and coaches again and building off what we did last year. We have unfinished business to handle.

If you could hang out with any football player past or present for a day who and why?

It would definitely be Sean Taylor. I loved his play style and would love to ask him what his mentality was going into games and how he broke down film. He was all over the field and would come lower his shoulder on anyone. So it would definitely be Sean Taylor.

What is your favorite defensive scheme and why?

I love the 4-2-5. especially being at rover. It allows defense to disguise the offense and allows us to play around with the offense’s eyes as well. The rover could be lined up at linebacker depth one play and then 10 yards back the next. So the 4-2-5 is my favorite due to its versatility with different positions.

What should we know about Tyrell Goldsmith the person?

I’m a competitive person and I hate the feeling of losing more than I love the feeling of winning. I love my family and friends. Will go to bat for anyone long as they do right by me. I’m a hard worker and if no one else believes in me I’ll believe in myself no matter the circumstances or situation.

What is the most elite thing about you and why?

Probably my IQ/football presence, knowing my responsibilities and also knowing what my opponent is doing allows me to play a lot faster than others. I pride myself on being one of the smartest people on the field.

How do you handle challenges both in life and on the football field?

Writing down specific goals or areas I need to improve on and work as much as I can on those areas until I am successful.

What would a team get in a player like you?

They will get a winner, a person who is determined and puts the team first and also a person who’s optimistic and is full of energy.

What do you love the most about the game of football?

The camaraderie that is established within the game. I have a group of people I can truly call my brothers in the end. That is what I love the most the brotherhood within the game.

Who is the most underrated player you’ve played with and why?

It would probably be Sherrod Paige. Played safety during my sophomore year in 2021. He had great ball skills and also would fit the ally. A lot of us felt like he was robbed of all conference but yeah he’s probably the most underrated player I’ve played with.
