Patrick Mahomes vs Joe Burrow: Has the Kansas City Chiefs quarterback found his match in Burrow and the Cincinnati

This upcoming NFL season is looking promising. Many teams have gotten better before the draft and after but some teams have remained the same especially in the AFC.

My top five teams in the AFC for next season would be number one, the Kansas City Chiefs. The reigning Super Bowl champions should be the number one pick here, as they won the AFC championship game and the Super Bowl. The Chiefs proved this past season that despite losing Tyreek Hill in the offseason last year, they still have big time playmakers to make big time plays. Even though they lost JuJu Smith-Schuster and Mecole Hardman to free agency, the Kansas City Chiefs are still a deadly team with the dynamic duo of Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce.

The second best team in the AFC would be the Cincinnati Bengals, led by that bad man Joe Burrow. The Bengals made some big improvements, one being the Offensive Line. The Bengals were able to pick up Orlando Brown from free agency who previously played for the Kansas City Chiefs. As far as last year goes, the Bengals looked lethal with the amount of weapons they had on offense consisting of Jamar Chase, Tee Higgins, Joe Mixson and Tyler Boyd. It will be very exciting to see if they can pull it off this year considering how exciting they were last year.

Number three would go to the Buffalo Bills. Even though the Bills had some issues late in the season they still were a good team. It’ll be important for them this year to make a statement as they have been seen to rely on Josh Allen to make some magic happen. But with the addition of Damien Harris who was a free agent during this offseason, hopefully the Bills can establish a solid run game to help take the heavy load off of Josh Allen and open things up more within the offense.

The Los Angeles Chargers would be number four on this list. Despite the comeback loss against the Jacksonville Jaguars last year, the Chargers can still be successful. With the addition of Kellen Moore from the Dallas Cowboys, it will be interesting to see how much of an effect he can make with Justin Herbert. Being able to work out a deal to keep Austin Ekeler would be big for the Chargers so they can continue their hunt for a Super Bowl ring. A highlight for them would be acquiring Quentin Johnston from TCU, who can work along with Mike Williams since Keenan Allen is still a free agent.

The last team to finish up the top five are the Baltimore Ravens. With the new additions to the team, Odell Beckham and Zay Flowers, these two can help bring more opportunity within the offense to go along with Mark Andrews and Rashod Bateman. And we can’t forget about the biggest thing The Ravens were able to accomplish this offseason, resigning Lamar Jackson on a new contract. With a clear mindset, Lamar can continue to be great or as some say “Lamarkable”, without the concern of his next move regarding a contract.
