Did Buffalo Bills upgrade their Running Backs Room by adding RB Damien Harris?

The Buffalo Bills added a familiar face in the AFC East to their running backs room yesterday. The team agreed to terms with former Alabama standout running back Damien Harris who spent time with the New England Patriots in past years.

The Bills signed Harris moments after they lost running back Devin Singletary in free agency to the Houston Texans. The deal was identical to the deal signed by Damien Harris in Buffalo.

Harris signed a one year deal that is worth up to 3.75 million dollars. Singletary signed the exact same deal with the Texans.

Harris spent four years with the Patriots and had some good runs. He finished his time with the Patriots rumbling for 2,094 yards on 449 carries and scored 20 times. Harris is a bigger back than Singletary, adding several inches and about 10 to 15 pounds.

The Bills were looking for a back that would be different than what they had on their current roster in James Cook and Nyheim Hines. This could have been a pretty good addition if Harris can stay healthy.

Harris should be called the Buffalo Killer, because in the Four Games he played against them he ripped 100 yards in three of them. There is something about leaving a mark. The Bills will be pumped to have him in their locker room rather than having to watch him run all over on them.

Do you think this move is an upgrade in the running backs room though? By adding Harris are they done in the NFL Draft? I would like to think by them adding Harris, the Bills are not truly focusing on a running back in the first round at this point. I could be wrong, but at this point, I think they will focus on offensive line, wide receiver help and a linebacker.

We will see, but I think this addition with Harris is a big one, and makes a ton of sense, especially for the low cost.
