Former Steelers football player was sentenced for fatally stabbing a man to death in Ohio

Former NFL running back Eric Wilkerson who played with the Pittsburgh Steelers as a running back was sentenced to at least 12 years in prison for charges including aggravated murder, murder, felonious assault and tampering with records in the fatal stabbing of 46-year-old Brian Weems III of Maple Heights.
Wilkerson pleaded guilty last week to amended charges including involuntary manslaughter and tampering with evidence, court records show. His remaining six charges were dropped.
According to police records, Wilkerson and Weems began arguing at an apartment complex when Wilkerson followed him into the bathroom stabbing him multiple times.
The former Kent State running back played one season with the Pittsburgh Steelers back in 80’s.
Wilkerson could get anywhere from 12 to 17.5 years in prison.
