What makes you a top prospect at your position in the 2024 NFL Draft

My combination of size, athleticism, nastiness, a natural feel for the game and just being a great competitor who is always looking to improve

At what age were you first interested in the sport of football?

I first became interested in football at a young age, I’d say around 5 years old. I grew up as the youngest of 3 boys and all of my older brothers had played football before me, which definitely sparked my interest.

What is one thing that NFL teams should know about you?

I pride myself on being someone who is dependable and reliable. Someone who is always chasing perfection and is not afraid of hard work, who will be authentic to my true self no matter the situation.

If you could donate to one cause in the world, what would it be?

If I could donate to one cause in the world it would be to education programs and schools in low-income communities because every kid deserves a good education regardless of their economic status.

What is the best advice you have ever received?

The best advice I’ve received is to control what you can control. There’s no need to be stressed out or worked up about something that is out of your control. This advice has definitely brought me some peace of mind in recent years with COVID and everything else.

Who was your childhood hero?

My childhood hero was and still is my dad. Growing up I would just see how hard he worked, the countless long days doing construction work. Day after day my dad would get up and go to work all day moving stones and pouring concrete without any complaints. Watching my dad growing up I quickly realized that hard work and persistence were just part of my DNA.

Who is the most underrated teammate in your locker room at your school?

The most underrated teammate in my opinion is Katero Summers. He plays wide receiver for us and is just a grinder. He’s not only a gifted athlete with good size at the WR position, on top of that he’s the kid that’s the first one in the locker room and last to leave. I believe he will have a breakout season in 2023.

What is your biggest pet peeve?

People who don’t do what they said they were going to, not keeping their word.

Overcoming adversity is what defines character, what was the hardest moment in your life to overcome?

The most adversity I have ever faced in my life hit me one after the next between 2013 and 2014. Over a 12-month period of time, I lost 4 close members of my family, all months apart and all sudden passing. It seemed as though as soon as the rain would clear up, my parents would call me into their room and give me the crashing news. During this period of time, I felt empty inside for a while. I felt as though I was viewing my life from outside my own body, I wasn’t really there mentally. Over time I was able to come to acceptance with everything and was able to heal. To this day I still think about my family on a daily basis, this is part of what drives me to be a successful player in the league.

Tell me something about your school and why it is so special to you?

My school is so special to me because I’ve been here long enough to witness the rapid evolution of our program. We went from all losing seasons and very limited resources, to a standard set of expecting a winning season, as well as all of the resources we’ve added along the way. It’s very cool to be part of the years that would help URI move toward the top of FCS football programs.

What is your favorite snack food?

Blue corn chips and fresh guacamole

What is the best part of football?

Taking your opponent and burying him into the turf against their will.

If you could sell yourself in one sentence what would you say?

I’m a persistent and hard-working individual who is reliable and plays with a chip on my shoulder.

If you could compare your play to one player in the NFL who would it be?

I would compare my game to Trey Smith, a guard for the Kansas City Chiefs. He has produced since entering the league which is a testament to how hard he works and also while watching his tape, there’s no denying the physicality that he plays with. I aspire to be a consistent and nasty player, similar to Trey.

If you could have dinner with three people dead or alive, who would it be and why?

The first person would be my grandfather on my dad’s side because I never really got a chance to know him much before he passed away. Second I would invite J. Cole because he’s one of my favorite artists but also he has a great mind filled with knowledge that would make for interesting conversations. Lastly, I would invite Mike Tyson so that he could share all his crazy stories from when he was the heavyweight boxing champion.
