CFL’s Calgary Stampeders bringing in talent from the South!
Jakari Robinson from Talladega, Alabama, attended the University of Cincinnati for 4 years before eventually finishing at Bowling Green University. The 2023 Draft Eligible draft prospect weighs in at 6’1 310 and is a very good pass protector and run stopper with a very good 40 time clocking 5.1-5.3 range. I recently caught up with Jakari and asked him some questions before camp this weekend.
What made you decide to go CFL?
Had a couple of rookie invites, due to size, and ultimately decided to hop on a better opportunity to get the film, than be still questionable about my stature at Offensive guard. Stampeders made that happen after a workout. They see my potential.
When is Rookie Camp For the Calgary Stampeders?
Yes, sir May 10th-12th.
Have you talked or been in contact with your Head Coach or Personnel?
Yes sir. So far my O-line Coach is very excited to get me in as soon as possible.
What do you look forward to in a CFL season?
Excited to get started practicing and hopefully eventually playing as a professional football player, in a whole New Environment and country. Also, my family can’t wait to see me in person or on CBS who just finalized a TV contract with the Canadian Football League this early Spring.
Are you ready for the Cold?
Yes sir, One thing about me, I’m from the countryside, were used to all elements.
What is your first rookie Goal?
Make the team and eventually take over a roster spot in the top 2 spots, and maintain a positive weight, so my versatility can remain effective.
The Kid is grateful for The Opportunity but even more ready to earn his CFL new experience. Hopefully, in the near future, we can interview Jakari for a CFL Championship week. Also, shout out to Coach Ruddy.
