Former Detroit Lions defensive back Alex Brown was sentenced to four months in Wayne County jail for operating a vehicle with a high blood-alcohol content level for his 2021 car accident that injured his teammate.

Brown entered a no-contest plea and was sentenced to four months in jail and 2 years of probation.

Brown was arrested around 2:13 a.m. on Aug. 15, 2021, after a crash in which he was driving the wrong way on southbound I-75 near I-375 in Detroit.

Brown struck another car head on causing injuries to the man’s legs, but he also caused his teammate to suffer injuries.

Charlie Taumoepeau a tight end was removed from the vehicle with the Jaws of Life, and was transported to a local hospital.

Brown registered a .211 blood alcohol level on a portable breathalyzer and was so drunk he thought he was in Atlanta returning from a strip club at the time of the accident, according to the Detroit Free Press.

Brown and Taumoepeau were released. Taumoepeau recently joined the XFL and was traded to Seattle in late January.
