Jalen Carter the star defensive lineman from Georgia is turning down pre-draft visits with teams outside the top 10, but is there a reason why he is doing this?
Could there be a team in the top 10 that has already told his agent that if he falls to them he will select them?
Jalen Carter is a very talented football player but over the past several months he has made some really poor decisions. The Eagles however just lost a very solid pass rusher in Javon Hargrave and could use another defensive lineman for their rotation. Why not select Jalen Carter who many projected as a top 3 pick before his arrest and horrendous pro day.
Daniel Jeremiah the NFL Media insider made a comment on the Pat McAfee show as to why Carter has been turning down visits outside of the top 10, and it makes sense.
Let’s be honest, Carter is a hell of a player on the field, and Howie Roseman is not afraid to take a player with risk. Add in the fact that Jordan Davis their first round pick in 2022, and Nakobe Dean their third round pick were teammates with Carter. They would both know Carter’s character, and if the Eagles who made the Super Bowl were able to add a top 3 prospect why wouldn’t they?
Carter finished the season with 32 tackles, seven for loss with three sacks, three pass breakups, and two forced fumbles in 13 games and nine starts. He would be a beast on the Eagles, and it would be a huge addition to a very good team.
