Jalen Carter is turning down visits with teams outside the Top 10 | Is he getting good advice?

Is Jalen Carter getting some bad advice? According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Media Insiders, the former University of Georgia defensive tackle Jalen Carter is turning down pre-draft visits from teams outside the Top 10, because his agent Drew Rosenhaus is confident he will be drafted in the top 10.

Carter has had visits with the Bears, Raiders and Eagles so far, all in the top 10. I am not so sure Carter is a sure-fire lock to be a top 10 pick, but his agent is super confident.

Here is my question, what makes you so confident Carter is a top ten pick. Players have fallen in the draft for a lot less in recent years.

According to odds, Jalen Carter’s stock has plummeted and he is no longer projected to be the first defensive player selected in the 2023 NFL Draft.

ESPN’s Todd McShay reported Carter had some character flaws. He has had issues with reckless driving, with one incident resulting in the tragic death of two of his friends. Carter gained nine pounds and looked out of shape on his pro day because of the amount of stress he is under of late.

I have a problem with Carter not showing up to speak with teams outside the top 10. The problem I have is it is not a guarantee he will go in the top 10 unless the Bears are sold on Carter. Many thought Carter was the pick for the Bears before they traded out of the top spot with the Carolina Panthers.

There is no question that Jalen Carter can play at a high level, but to turn down visits with any team does not seem like a very smart move. I could be wrong, but if he does in fact slip out of the top 10, should his agent Drew Rosenhaus be held liable for the move?
