Georgia Jalen Carter’s odds to be the 1st defensive player selected have dropped big time since arrest news

You have to love the oddsmakers, these guys do not miss anything. I was bored and wanted to see if the odds remained the same after the news broke today that the police in Georgia have an arrest warrant for Jalen Carter one of the top prospects in the 2023 NFL Draft, and they did not surprise me.
According to odds, Jalen Carter’s stock has plummeted and he is no longer projected to be the first defensive player selected in the 2023 NFL Draft.
Here were the odds before the news on the arrest of Carter.
- Jalen Carter, Georgia Bulldogs (-105)
- Will Anderson, Alabama Crimson Tide (+130)
- Tyree Wilson, Texas Tech Red Raiders (+600)
- Myles Murphy, Clemson Tigers (+2500)
- Devon Witherspoon, Illinois Fighting Illini (+5000)
- Christian Gonzalez (+5000)
Will Anderson the Alabama star will easily have the best odds, but if you would like to bet on Carter being the first defensive player selected you can win big! Right now the numbers have dropped and Carter’s odds are now +1600 to be the top defensive prospect selected.
Carter did respond to the news via Twitter.
Carter tweeted he is headed back to Georgia and will “answer the misdemeanor charges against me and to make certain that the complete and accurate truth is presented.
“… There is no question in my mind that when all of the facts are known that I will be fully exonerated of any criminal wrongdoing.”
