Talk about your experience as a student. What is your major/minor? Did you participate in any other activities or campus organizations other than football?

Major: Criminal Justice

I do community service outside of the school (food drives, etc.)

What do your teammates say is your best quality?

I am a leader and I push everyone to be great. I can also push them to their limit.

What kind of role do you see yourself in on the team? What scheme and/or position suits your skill set?

I try to help both the older and younger guys, the rest of them will get on me if I’m slacking. I am a cornerback but I can play a bit of nickel when needed. I feel like I am in a great system at BCU.

Who is the best player you have ever played against in college?

No. 13 and 19 from FAMU

Which one of your teammates impresses you the most?

Marcus Riley, Darnell Dees, De’Vuntray Hampton, and Kemari Averett. The secondary is a real bright spot on this team

What makes you different from others at your position?

I’m a playmaker – my eyes are always on the ball and I can quite literally shut down half of the field.

Describe a time in your life when you were able to overcome a struggle.

In high school, when I started playing football I was criticized for my maturity and size. People said all of the typical things like “you can’t make it.” Now I am proving them all wrong.

If you didn’t play football, what other sport would you play?

I would play basketball since that was a passion in high school.

What is something that you are most proud of? What would you say is your biggest achievement?

I am most proud of making my family happy by doing something with myself and trying to become better. Being a first-team all-SWAC and first-team all-defense is something I think about every day, especially because BCU is often overlooked.

Describe one of the most memorable plays of your collegiate career.

Against Alcorn State we were the underdogs – pulled off the upset win and I had an interception.

Do you have a favorite athlete or professional team? Is there a player that you model your game after?

Favorite athlete: Jalen Ramsey and AJ Terrell

What gets you “pumped up” before a game?

Seeing my teammates get hyped before the game, it gets me ready and I start feeling the same way. One energy to another.

What do you do in your spare time? Do you have any hobbies? Any secret talents?

I love to fish and go bowling when I’m not practicing and working out.

Why do you play football? Who or what motivates you the most?

I play football for my family – they really push me to my limit. The people in my family who passed away can’t see me on the field, but I know I have to continue my legacy.

The people in my community have always been fans and that also makes me feel recognized.

What do you want NFL teams to know about you?

Teams need to know that I can make plays on the ball, I consider myself to be a “workaholic”

Other notes:

My freshman and sophomore year I was playing basketball. My basketball coach told me at the end of sophomore year to try out for the football team, but once I realized my own potential in junior year I started taking it seriously. Senior year I was explosive, I nearly had an interception in every game, and all of the offers started rushing in. I started as a true freshman at BCU and never looked back.
