Did the Raiders really remove Jalen Carter from their Draft Board or is that smoke?
Yesterday, news came out that the Las Vegas Raiders removed Georgia star defensive tackle Jalen Carter from their big board and will not draft him with the 7th overall pick, according to Vic Tafur of the Athletic.
Tafur is very in the know when it comes to the Raiders organization, but could this be smoke?
We all know that Jalen Carter has concerns off the field, after Carter pled no contest to misdemeanor charges of racing and reckless driving related to a car crash that killed a Georgia athletic staffer.
Maybe this is coming from ownership because they recently struggled with the Henry Ruggs situation where he crashed his car back in 2021 killing a 23-year-old because of reckless driving. Ruggs was reportedly driving 156 MPH and intoxicated at the time of the accident.
The Raiders are not the only team that has removed him from their board according to Randy Mueller. The former GM said that multiple teams have removed Carter off their board.
I am not sure what is going on with Carter, because he sucked at his pro day as well. If teams are in fact taking him off their boards you should expect a drop. Could a team like the Chiefs end up landing one of the top rated players because he had a horrible pro day and made a dumb decision? It would not surprise me to be honest.
Many still believe he will be drafted in the top 10, but usually where there is smoke there is fire.
