Talk about your experience as a student. What is your major/minor? Did you participate in any other activities or campus organizations other than football?
My experience as a student at Albany State was very smooth and educational, getting the HBCU experience and so forth. For my undergrad I studied Health and Human Performance and for my graduate I studied Public Administration with a focus in Health Administration & Policy. I didn’t really participate in any other activities while playing football.
What do your teammates say is your best quality?
My teammates say my best quality is my effort and being able to lead by example.
What kind of role do you see yourself in on the team? What scheme and/or position suits your skill set?
I see my role on my team as being a team captain and leader, I’ve been on the team for about 6 years due to covid and being a red shirt. So I know the in’s and out’s of the team so I naturally lead. I feel like any scheme fits my skill set. We ran a lot of different defenses and looks at ASU which had me play man, cover, come off the edge, spy, and even play as a nose or tackle occasionally. I play inside backer but I’ve also played nickel and safety before so I know I could play those positions also.
Who is the best player you have ever played against in college?
I would have to say either Xavier Smith from Famu, or Ivory Durham from Valdosta State.
Which one of your teammates impresses you the most?
Malik Barnes.
Describe a time in your life when you were able to overcome a struggle.
2021 season when one of our dear friend and teammate passed away and being able to finish the rest of the season for him.
If you didn’t play football, what other sport would you play?
I would most likely be playing baseball.
What is something that you are most proud of? What would you say is your biggest achievement so far?
I’m proud of my growth of getting closer to God, it seems as if everywhere I go he’s always there guiding me. I would also say that’s my biggest achievement.
Describe one of the most memorable plays of your collegiate career.
When I scored for the first time against Benedict in 2021.
Do you have a favorite athlete or professional team? Is there a player that you model your game after?
My favorite athlete would have to be Derwin James from the Chargers, I grew up watching him as a big FSU fan. I don’t have a person I model my game after.
Who is your favorite music artist? What gets you pumped before a game?
Kodak Black would have to be my favorite artist, and the energy from crowds at games get me pumped just by the sounds of fans and the band.
What is your favorite comfort food?
Pizza from Hungry Howies.
Do you have a favorite movie, TV show or actor?
My favorite all time show would have to be Dragon Ball Z.
What do you do in your spare time? Do you have any hobbies? Any secret talents?
In my spare time, I like to hunt and fish. I am very country. I also have no hidden talents.
Why do you play football? Who or what motivates you the most?
It’s something I enjoyed and grew up doing for a long time and I guess I’m pretty good at it. Also, what motivates me is my family. It came from just enjoying football to actually being able to provide. Also my coaches and teammates have motivated me from high school to college. It feels like I’m also playing for their dreams as well for the ones that couldn’t make it this far.
