Broncos are paying Sean Payton A LOT OF MONEY to be their head coach
Former New Orleans Saints head coach Sean Payton should be all smiles today after getting traded to the Denver Broncos. Payton is in line to make quite a bit of money according to reports.
Channel 9News in Denver is reporting that the Broncos will pay Payton somewhere between 17 to 20 million dollars a year, and the deal is believed to be for five years.
If this was true the Broncos would be on the hook for upward to 100 million dollars for their head coach.
Payton was smart to take some time off because he is walking into a pretty nice situation if he can in fact fix Russell Wilson.
He won a Super Bowl with the Saints, but his first task with the Broncos will be ironing out Russell Wilson’s issues. Wilson was a dominant player for the Seahawks before crumbling in one year with the Broncos. If Payton can get him to return to All-Pro the Broncos will be tough in the AFC West.
