NFL’s Dirtiest Player Ever Conrad Dobler is dead at the age of 72

Conrad Dobler was one of the most ferocious football players ever, and he embraced being called dirty.
Dobler who played in the NFL for ten years back in the 70’s passed away at the age of 72.
Dobler played left guard alongside Dan Dierdorf for the St. Louis Cardinals who were dubbed the “Cardiac Cardinals.”
Dobler was known for eye gouging defensive lineman, leg whipping players, and even biting fingers in the trenches.
The Cardinals released this statement on the passing of Dobler
“Our hearts go out to the family, friends and former teammates of Conrad Dobler,” Cardinals owner Michael Bidwill said in a statement. “He was the kind of tough, physical and fierce player that you love to line up with as a teammate and hate to line up against as an opponent. On the field, Conrad was a big reason for the success of the Cardiac Cards of the 1970s. Away from it, he brought authentic joy and caring to everyone who had the privilege of being his friend and that is what I will remember most.”
Dobler played in three pro bowls in his career, and even had a short stint with the Buffalo Bills and New Orleans Saints.
The fifth round pick out of Wyoming is survived by six children and 12 grandchildren.
