What made you decide you wanted to be a football player?

My parents put me in football around the age of 7 and ever since then I loved it. I loved being part of a team and chasing the same goals. As I got older I realized how football could be a catalyst for a better life so I put 100% into it.

What are you looking to achieve as a football player going forward?

As a football player I’m looking to make it the next level! Whether that is the conventional route or an alternative route, it does not matter to me.

If you could hang out with any football player past or present for a day who and why?

I would love to hangout the quarterback Derek Carr. I would love to pick his brain because he preaches the gospel and has faced a lot of adversity.

What are your favorite moments from your football life?

One of my most memorable moments is playing in my first WPIAL championship in high school. Another moment is playing against James Madison in 2019.

Which one of your family members inspires you the most and why?

My mother inspires me the most. She raised my 5 brothers and I. She always made sure we had what we needed and was at every game. She did the impossible and showed me how to be strong and not let life stop you from doing what you set out to do.

What is your favorite defensive scheme and why?

I love to play a firezone scheme. Blitzing the quarterback and anticipating routes opens up a lot of opportunities for turnovers.

What should we know about Gio Vonne Sanders the person?

That he is a family oriented man. I have a son and the oldest of 9. He is a hardworking and loving person.

What stands out about your film the most?

What stands out most is that I am versatile. On film I show that I can play man coverage in the slot. I can play free safety over the top. I can tackle and be in the run fit. I am a very instinctive player and I love to play special teams.

How do you handle challenges both in life and on the football field?

In football and in life I pray about it and keep my faith in the Lord. I know challenges and obstacles are apart of life and have life lessons so I embrace them and try to find joy in the process.

What would a team get in a player like you?

A team would be getting a disciplined and explosive player. A player who is a leader and focuses on all the little things.

What do you love the most about the game of football?

I love competing and trying to achieve greatness. It’s special when you have a group of people all on the same mission and have the same goals.

Who is the most underrated player you’ve played with and why?

Kareem Hall. He was very explosive and had great vision at running back. He was a very talented player but went under the radar.
