Tom Brady says the next time he says he is retiring he is for sure done with football
Tom Brady told reporters this week that the next time he says he is retiring from the NFL, he for sure is going to hang up his cleats.
“I think next time I decide to retire, that’s it for me. So whenever that day comes, we’ll figure it out.”
He did not say when he was going to retire, but he did say the next time it happens there will be no return.
“I think what I really realized last year was you gotta be really sure to do that and for me – a lot of people have gone through the situation of how you feel when the season ends vs. two or three [months] later. So I’m gonna take my time whenever that time does come.”
Brady is still trying to get the Bucs to the playoffs and if the Buccaneers can beat the Carolina Panthers this week they would repeat as the NFC South Champions and guarantee him a home playoff game.
Brady said the task will not be easy, and said the Panthers will be a tough one. They are playing great right now.
“It’s a big game, and they’re a good football team, and they’re an ascending football team,” Brady said Monday. “This is a championship game and I don’t give a s— what the records are.”
It is crazy that a 45-year old man continues to lead his team to the playoffs and the division championship year in and year out. Maybe he does have another year left in the tank.
