What made you decide you wanted to be a football player?
I started playing football in the 3rd grade and fell in love with it and decided that’s what I wanted to do.
What are your favorite moments from your football life?
There is a lot but if I had to chose one moment I would say in high school when we went on our crazy playoff run. We fell short but having the school and city behind us was a crazy experience.
What are you looking to achieve as a football player going forward?
I want to play football at the highest level possible.
If you could hang out with any football player past or present for a day who and why?
Tyrann Mathieu without a doubt. All of the trials and tribulations he has went through not only on the football field with injuries but in life as well overcoming obstacles and everything he has, I would want to ask him how he kept pushing and staying level headed.
Which one of your family members inspires you the most and why?
My mom. She has had the craziest life I’ve ever heard of and the fact that she overcame everything and raised my brother and I to be the men we are says a lot.
What is your favorite defensive scheme and why?
I would say a 4-3 because I am an athletic linebacker that can cover and fill the run so I feel like that defense is built for me to use my athletic ability while playing outside of the box or in the box.
What should we know about Sonny Brown the person?
I am a very family oriented person and I also want to see the best for everyone around me. I am also always going to be the hardest worker in the room so I can be the best.
What stands out about your film the most?
What would stand out the most about my film is the fact that I can play multiple positions. I started at linebacker and also started a season at corner and another season at safety. I’m very versatile so I fill like any defense can use me.
How do you handle challenges both in life and on the football field?
Knowing that God always has a better plan for me and that no matter what comes at me I can handle it has got me through a lot in life.
What would a team get in a player like you?
They will be getting a team first guy that will do whatever he can to win. A hard worker and someone that wants to be coached up and wants to be the best player he can be.
How are you planning to train for the draft?
I will be training with James Tabor at Premier Inspired Athletes in Wichita, Kansas.
Who is the most underrated player you’ve played with and why?
The most underrated player I’ve ever played with is my brother Adam Brown. His motor is crazy and he plays the whole game at 100% which is not seen that much in college football especially playing D-Line. He plays defensive end and is a little underweight but he has never let that stop him from dominating guys way bigger than him.
