Ohio State Freshman offensive tackle Avery Henry reveals he has been diagnosed with cancer

This hit close to me, because on August 1st, 2022 I found out that I was diagnosed with cancer and for a 39-year old me it was very hard news to take. I would have a portion of my kidney removed on November 1st, and doctors believe that I am now cancer free, but I must say that news was hard to digest.
Last night, a Freshman football standout at Ohio State Avery Henry announced on his social media page that he has been diagnosed with osteosarcoma which is a form of bone cancer. I know when receiving that diagnosis it had to be tough, especially for a young and healthy person.
There is something that myself and Avery have in common, the mental aspect of the news is the most important. If you read his statement he claims he will not be a statistic! I said the same thing.
“I have never been a statistic and I never will! I want to thank my brothers and coaches for the endless support,” Henry tweeted to his followers
To battle osteosarcoma, the most common treatments are Chemo and/or surgery. We are praying for you Avery and just know that I beat it, and you can too! Don’t let the Devil win!
