Aaron Rodgers tells the media “he expects the Packers to be in the mix if there is trade opportunity”

I just happened to write and article where I sent Chase Claypool to the Green Bay Packers in exchange for wide receiver Amari Rodgers and a third round pick. Aaron Rodgers would land a veteran wide out that is capable of being a number 1, and the team gets better.

Well, after a brutal loss to the New York Jets, Aaron Rodgers told reporters, he expects the team to make a move if a trade opportunity presents itself.

Rodgers and GM Brian Gutekunst have had several conversations about making moves before the trade deadline, and Rodgers is under the impression that the Packers GM will be ready to pull the trigger.

“There’s the possibility if certain guys emerge of us having a chance to make a run. I know Brian believes the same thing,” Rodgers said, via Jason Wilde of Madison.com. “But if there’s an opportunity, I would expect that Brian will be in the mix.”

The Packers need to find a way to get get some players, and it sounds like Rodgers would like some help. Right now he is surrounded by inexperienced players and would love to add some veteran leadership, but it will be hard to pay them with Rodgers massive contract. I wonder if he will help the Packers by restructuring to fit in some extra playmakers.
