Ravens reportedly offered Lamar Jackson a contract worth more than Kyler Murray’s deal and he turned it down
Lamar Jackson represents himself, he has no NFLPA certified agent, and he wants a new contract. According to Jay Glazer of Fox Sports, Lamar has already turned down a deal that would have paid him more than the former first overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft Kyler Murray.
Jay Glazer of Fox Sports reported during Sunday night’s Ravens-Cardinals pregame show that Baltimore has offered quarterback Lamar Jackson more money than the Cardinals have agreed to pay to quarterback Kyler Murray. You maybe asking yourself, what is the hold-up then, but Glazer said the five-year deal that was fully guaranteed to Deshaun Watson is what is complicating negotiations.
Glazer said it will be an uphill battle for Lamar Jackson and the Ravens to get a deal done by week 1. Lamar Jackson already came out and said he is not negotiating after week 1. The battle continues, but it sounds like Lamar Jackson knows what he wants and will hold out until he gets it.
Trust me, someone will pay him what he wants. He just needs to be patient.
If Jackson wants more money than Murray he is looking for at least 46.2 million dollars a year on a five year deal. Murray’s contract is worth 46.1 million per year.
I would be shocked if the Ravens do not fork out the money for their star quarterback, but who knows. Anything can happen in this league.
