What makes you a top prospect at your position in the 2023 NFL Draft?
- I am an above average sized defensive back, who can play well in space and in the box if needed. I also believe my aggressiveness on the field is a key factor to my playing style.
At what age were you first interested in the sport of football?
- I was raised around a family who played football, so I’d say very young. I started off playing with the North Dekalb Chargers when I was 8 years old.
What is one thing that NFL teams should know about you?
- They should know that I am extremely passionate and relentless when it comes to this game. I’ll do whatever it takes to get better at this game. Football saved my life. I don’t take it for granted.
If you could donate to one cause in the world, what would it be?
- I would donate to medical research in honor of my little cousin who has autism.
What is the best advice you have ever received?
- The best advice I’ve ever received was never get comfortable, so you’ll always be prepared for the moment.
Who was your childhood hero?
- I’d have to say my dad. I wouldn’t be where I’m at without him, as well as the time and support he’s put into me and this sport.
Who is the most underrated teammate in your locker room at your school?
- There’s a few guys I can think of, but if I had to name one, I’d say our safety Brandon Williams. His IQ is high, and he plays with a lot of passion.
What is your biggest pet peeve?
- My biggest pet peeve is when people don’t give credit when it’s due. It’s a lot of hate in this world nowadays.
Overcoming adversity is what defines character, what was the hardest moment in your life to overcome?
- The hardest moment I’ve had to overcome was my walk-on experience at Clemson. I knew I had the talent to compete at the highest level, but I really had to grind and earn my way in. I remember working out a whole year straight by myself on this open field next to the gym until a spot opened up for me. After not having football for an entire year, I became a National Champion in my first year back. God really works in mysterious ways. I’ll never forget that part of my journey. Most people give up when things don’t go as planned, but adversity pushes me to overcome and conquer.
Tell me something about your school and why it is so special to you?
- My new school doesn’t have any distractions, which keeps me locked in on my craft. It’s a small town where you can really focus on yourself.
What is your favorite snack food?
- Sour Skittles are a must.
What is the best part of football?
- The best part of football to me is hitting someone full force without a consequence. The field is where I let all my emotions out, it’s therapeutic.
If you could sell yourself in one sentence what would you say?
- If you tell me no, I will take another route to get my yes
If you could compare your play to one player in the NFL who would it be?
- Kam Chancellor because of his size & aggressiveness
If you could have dinner with three people dead or alive, who would it be and why?
- The first person I’d have dinner with is my boy Dre. He passed away in 2016 at a young age and has always been a big motivation to my game ever since. Secondly, I’d have dinner with Virgil Abloh to learn about how I can expand my clothing brand called “M2BM”. His ability to bring streetwear to luxury clothing at that level was amazing. Lastly, I’d have dinner with Floyd Mayweather. No one can take away Floyd’s ambition to be the greatest at his job. I definitely could learn something from his commitment to his sport and all the other business ventures that he has created from boxing.
