Eastern Kentucky football player was arrested and taken into federal custody for robbing a postal worker


Eastern Kentucky sophomore defensive back Marquae Kirkendoll, is accused of an armed robbery involving a postal worker. The incident occurred back in January in New Mexico, according to reports.
According to documents filed in federal court in New Mexico this week, the 21-year-old Kirkendoll was also charged with stealing a key from the carrier used to open mail bags and lock boxes, as well as brandishing a gun, aiding and abetting, and conspiracy.
Kirkendoll transferred from New Mexico to Eastern Kentucky in January.
Kirkendoll was suspended indefinitely from the team. Kirkendoll was taken into federal custody on Wednesday.
“EKU Athletics was made aware that Marquae Kirkendoll was taken into custody Wednesday afternoon. We have immediately suspended Mr. Kirkendoll indefinitely from the football program pending the results of the legal process.”
