Indianapolis Colts owner Jim Irsay just ripped Carson Wentz
Indianapolis Colts owner Jim Irsay just hammered former starting quarterback Carson Wentz. Obviously, Wentz was expected to be the starting quarterback for the Colts, and did well, but the Colts owner is not a fan.
“We went through the season with some inconsistency at quarterback that led to massive problems,” Irsay told the press when discussing the 2021 season, according to the New York Post.
“We’re set up for excellence, now we just have to do it. And Matt Ryan has that same feeling in his heart,” Irsay explained.
Wentz threw 27 touchdowns to seven interceptions, which isn’t a bad TD:INT ratio at all. However, he only completed 62.4% of his passes and averaged only 209.6 passing yards a game. Irsay is talking a lot of trash, but Matt Ryan better shine. I honestly believe that Carson Wentz will have a better year than Matt Ryan this year.
Matt Ryan looked atrocious against the Buffalo Bills back-ups last week in their first pre-season game. The Colts are not as good as they look on paper. I think it is going to be a long year. Irsay may want to stay quiet.
