XFL announces their teams including three in Texas! None in New York or California
The XFL is coming back to Orlando, Florida! I am happy being I live here!
On Sunday, the XFL announced there will be three teams in Texas to include Dallas (Arlington), Houston, San Antonio, plus Las Vegas, Orlando, St. Louis, Seattle, and D.C.
There were no teams announced from New York or California, which is probably wise. The XFL replaced New York, Los Angeles and Tampa Bay, all of which hosted teams in the previous iteration of the league. The three cities reportedly had the three lowest average attendance figures during the 2020 season, according to Kevin Seifert of ESPN.
The coaches for the XFL have also been announced.
Wade Phillips will coach Houston, Bob Stoops is coaching Dallas, Hines Ward is over San Antonio, Reggie Barlow will coach DC, Rod Woodson will coach Vegas, and Jim Haslett will coach Seattle. The two other teams will be coached by former NFL players, Terrell Buckley will be coaching the Orlando team, and Anthony Becht will coach St. Louis.
