From Broken to CHANGED! How a High School Football Star is leading a much needed ministry in WNY

My name is Damond Talbot. I am the owner of NFL Draft Diamonds, and I wanted to help my brother in Christ Jason because I still consider him my brother.

Jason Siafakas was my best friend growing up! We spent countless hours at one another’s houses. We were on the same football team growing up, Jason was our star defensive back and running back, rushing for 2k plus yards. If you needed a big play, Jason was the one getting the ball.

I moved away from my hometown in 2003, and I recently connected with my childhood friend. I didn’t know he found Jesus like myself. The last time I heard about him from friends and family, he was in the hospital fighting for his life. I began to pray, and today we have connected again.

Recently, my brother lost his Father, who was actually my first boss. I know Jason’s father is smiling from heaven right now, because he told me how proud he was of his boy just a few days before he passed.

I want to tell you about his ministry, because he is doing a great job in Western New York, and I would love to be able to help anyone that is going through a tough time as well, by giving them hope and sharing Jason’s ministry.

Let’s tell his story!

After many years of destruction, drug deals, devastation, depression, and desperation, a lightbulb went off for a Killbuck/Salamanca, New York local. He found himself waking up once again in a prison cell, feeling desperate, after yet another big binge of partying, breaking the law, and being in and out of jail.  He knew he was in deep this time, but he also knew that his life had a greater purpose and he was supposed to be helping others, so he searched for and started actively seeking CHANGE! With a broken journey that ended in a blessed path through this thing we call life, BAB was birthed to serve the communities of Olean, Allegany, Salamanca, Bradford and beyond.

“Broken & Betrayed: I’m Changed” is an organization that was founded on August 31st, 2021 (National Overdose Awareness Day), in order to help transition people from broken lifestyles to changed futures. BAB helps people with the costs of a leg-up in life, which can include celebrating their accomplishments, helping with hotel costs, purchasing motivational and self-help materials, seeking safety, helping purchase eye glasses…work boots…work clothes…first child support and/or rent payments…fines…clothing…housing applications, detox in-takes & transports, safety plans, gas and/or rides to appointments, sobriety plans and meetings, etc… 100% of the proceeds from BAB sponsored events, ticket sales, Chinese auctions, meeting collection plates, Josh Allen canvas ticket sales, sports memorabilia sales, Wrist bands, donations, etc… assists BAB in fulfilling these kinds of needs for those seeking it.

This ministry has had a very important and instrumental job in the surrounding communities, having the ability to guide and direct people who once were broke, busted & disgusted to a different path in life. Sometimes, giving assistance and a clear path to people (who everyone else has written off and kicked out of their lives) is all that’s needed to build success with them! It’s their goal to help change a region, one testimony (laced with VICTORY) at a time! People need other people to believe in them…walking their Road to Recovery with them!

At Broken & Betrayed: I’m Changed, they are blessed to be able to do just that.  It’s their intention to INCREASE & MULTIPLY the help we supply for the next year, in comparison to the previous years, by building a ministry where those who were once helped can be given opportunities to come back and partner with them…going out and helping others! They endeavor to be blessed, so they can be a bigger blessing to more people.
