NFL Draft Diamonds Free Agent Interview: Marquez Spencer, Wide Receiver

Marquez Spencer the speedy and elusive Wide Receiver from Bethune Cookman recently sat down with Draft Diamonds.

Hello I am @jrberendzen on Twitter and this is one of my free agent interviews where I ask very deserving free agents questions about the players themselves and about what a team would get in these players. All of these players should get picked up by NFL, CFL, USFL, and XFL teams and get a shot at being a career football player. My understanding of the game, how fast I can understand situations in the game, my work ethic, and my focus on details.

What are you looking to achieve as a football player going forward?

I want to win a Super Bowl.

What is your typical training routine?

I run routes and lift every week along with a stretch recovery period after a intense training session.

If you could hang out with any football player past or present for a day who and why?

Jerry Rice because he is the #1 receiver of all time, just to pick up on some his knowledge of the game. He had skills. I would love to hang out with Joe Burrow also.

What made you decide you wanted to be a football player?

When I scored my first touchdown at the leading my team to a win.

If there was a billboard with 5 of your traits on it which 5 traits would be up there?

Winning, speed, hungry, and champion.

What type of energy do you bring onto the football field?

I bring a chill and focus mentally along with excitement after making big plays.

How do you handle challenges both in life and on the football field?

I pray and stay motivated.

What are your favorite moments from your football life?

I have a lot of great moments in football. When I jump over this dude’s head in the game in the peewee.

What would a team get in a player like you?

A team player that consult with teamwork to identify the areas of improvement.

What is your favorite route and why?

I don’t have a favorite route I just like making plays. Go ball.

What should we know about Marquez Spencer the person?

That I’m a way better receiver than I was in 2018. I’m a lot more consistent. Career Stats:• 22 receptions• 350 receiving yards• 21 KR• 337 KR yards Recorded a season-long pass of 60 yards… Averaged 16.7 yards a catch… Also return 11 kicks for 204 yards, with a season-long of 60 yards. Led the team in returns. 2018 Phil Steele All-SWAC team announced by the publication.
