Jets offensive line coach arrested in New Jersey just blocks away from the facility
New York Jets offensive line coach John Benton was arrested and charged with DUI in New Jersey this week. According to police, Benton was arrested Thursday night and charged with driving under the influence.
Benton was driving a Lincoln Navigator and was stopped at 11:52 p.m. while traveling northbound on I-287 in Morristown, New Jersey, only a few miles from the Jets’ training facility.
Benton worked with head coach Robert Saleh before in San Francisco for the 49ers. He has coached for several years and worked with the Rams, Texans, Dolphins, and Jaguars in the past.
Jets have already comment on the arrest:
“We are aware of the situation and have no further comment,” a Jets spokesman said, via Brian Costello of the New York Post.
